Pam and Doug Robinson's Episode

Pam and Doug Robinson from Salt Lake are a fantastic couple who fished with Phil earlier this year and decided to return for a try at our big game this October.  They arrived on the 23rd and planned two days on the DISCOVERY, the 25th and the 28th.  Sometimes Phil wants so badly for a charter to be successful and this was one of them.  The Robinson's chose the Viva Resort in Punta de Mita and Doug began the vacation with his new surf casting rod and managed to land a Great Barracuda from the beach nearby.

As luck goes, the couple spent the 25th in the Disco of their hotel along with all of the other guests as Hurricane Kenna  stormed by.  Doug was in true storm form and felt privileged to witness such dramatic weather.  Pam, the sun lover tolerated the storm but would have preferred a cloudless day on the beach.  With a day to spare after the hurricane and before their charter, they ventured south to Conchas Chinas to visit.  Phil in PV, Fisherman/Pool Man was having a big problem with his jacuzzi pump and Doug, Master Mechanic/Really Nice Guy took over and spent the afternoon making everything work.

Badly damaged Hotel, Plaza Las Glorias and Hotel Continental Plaza.

Pam and Doug finally got out on the ocean on the 27th and the group headed to El Banco in search of something very big.  The seas were rougher than expected and the Robinson family got pretty beat up.  Phil and Captain Cacho are going to feel guilty for quite some time in making the decision to go for the gusto but they really wanted this one to work.  It was not a dream vacation for Pam and Doug but perhaps they will remember this one as an adventure.  Such nice people will have many wonderful ones to look forward to.  Thanks for everything and please come back soon.  We don't have any photos of Pam and Doug yet but the shots on this page were taken by Phil as the party passed the hotel zone.  We will replace them with Punta de Mita  Hurricane shots when we receive them.

Notice the missing section of pier at the cruise ship dock.

Sorry guys, we could not resist using your theme song from your last trip, nothing to do with Hurricanes but it's just too good!
