Ned Ludlow loves fishing almost as much and Phil but in the past, had never caught a billfish or anything else particularly large.  Well, this was Ned's year! 

Three long days on the STRIKE ONE with Phil proved to be everything Ned had ever dreamed about.  On day one, Ned landed a 420 pound Yellow fin tuna as well as several others in the 80 to 150 pound range.  Ned spent 4 grueling hours fighting the big one and became an instant member of the 300+ club.  The hot spot was El Banco once again and definitely worth the 50 mile run. 

On day 2 Captain Hector and Salvador decided to try another area south of El Moro and it turned out to be another milestone day in Ned's life.  Not one but 2 Sailfish were caught and Ned entered the Billfish Club with a doubleheader.  Just before the Sails hit, a pod of Killer Whales were chasing the bait and this was a sight that few ever witness, let alone at 20 feet behind the boat.  Phil and Ned will never forget this day. 

Day 3 was pretty mediocre, Ned just caught 4 Yellowfin tuna less than 80 pounds.  This would have been a dream come true for most of our October charters but Phil had wanted to put Ned on a Marlin.  So, Ned, you know what this means……..October 2003 is going to be on the calender and every October after that until we get you the Marlin that you are waiting for.  Then will you quit?  We don't think so.  Congratulations on your status and you can bet that Phil enjoyed this series of days as much as you did. 

Phil in PV is beginning the month of November in Lovable Bill's Dog House once again.  It seems that this time he bent a gaff into some strange configuration on Ned's charter on the 31st and will probably spend the month of November trying to redeem himself.  Captain Hector pointed out Phil's latest sin to Bill in case he was blamed for the strange shape of the gaff.
